The Electron Rocket is a small rocket that could carry satellites into space. It is a two-stage orbital expendable launch vehicle (with an optional third stage) developed by Rocket Lab, an American aerospace company founded in New Zealand. It was developed to service the commercial small satellite launch market. Its Rutherford engines are the first electric-pump-fed engine to power an orbital class rocket.
Today, Rocket Lab, had proven that it can get payloads into orbit around the Earth quickly and, at a mere US$5 million per launch, relatively cheaply.
